Art under Fire

In a world full of information, it’s common to feel like you’re aware of what’s happening globally and staying up to date. But do we really know what’s going on? In most events happening around us, we are merely observers. How much do we really know about an event after it’s been covered in the news, or someone has posted about it on Instagram? On 25th March 2024 in Kyiv, Ukraine, a missile fragment, shot down by air defense forces, fell on the Boychuk Academy and destroyed part of the educational building. The event was covered, like all other destructions during the war. But unlike other destructions, there are still people I know at this university, and I saw how much remains beyond the scope of the news. The graphic novel aims to fill the gaps in media coverage and documenting the war's multifaceted and multi-layered realities. The big focus of the storyies is what eyewitneses are feeling and through what going through during such events.
