Humanity and empathy

Anastasia Leukhina, a Ukrainian medical activist, helped reform laws, such as allowing parents to visit children in intensive care. Her efforts led to the creation of a course and textbook on empathetic communication between medical workers and patients. Inspired by her previous book, Not a Scary Book, which highlighted gaps in medical education, the new book is designed like a patient chart to grab attention and emphasize its humanistic focus.
